Words from the Bride...

The venue: The Grove was the 5th venue my husband and I looked at and its selling point is the location and ceremony area and the fact that it is a family-run business. My husband and I both love being outside, and the venues we had looked at before lacked an outdoor space that really spoke to us. The ceremony site is so lovely and romantic. It really does sell itself. The reception area is a great size that did not feel too big. Some of the other venues we toured seemed so large that it would dwarf our reception, but we had about 60-65 people and the Grove’s reception area is perfect. There was plenty of room for 10 tables, a photo booth and a buffet for our food, dessert table, DJ area, and dance area and it did not feel cramped at all. It was perfect. The Grove actually provides a to-scale layout of your reception so you can see where everything will be. This was helpful in visualizing how things would flow. Their contract is very straight forward and easy to reference whenever we had a question about something. They allow you to bring outside vendors of your choice but have a helpful list of recommended vendors if you don’t know where to start. We toured the Grove in November 2018 and our wedding was in April 2019, so when it was finally time to see the venue on the wedding day, it was breathtaking how everything had greened up! This is something to keep in mind if you tour the venue in a different season than when your wedding will be. We got so many compliments on the venue alone, and it really is a special, unique space.

The owners: The Grove’s owners, Susan and Brian Baldwin, as well as their daughters Maddie and Bobbie, were very helpful and answered every email and phone call quickly. They were lovely to work with and truly care about their clients. Maddie was super sweet during our initial tour and helped us realize we had found the right venue.

Coordination: Bobbie, our event coordinator was amazing! She is so sweet and caring and makes sure to take detailed notes about everything so your wedding day goes smoothly. She also finalizes details with your vendors for you to make sure everyone is on the same page. I would highly recommend adding the coordination services if you choose The Grove. There are many things I would not have thought to do if Bobbie had not mentioned them. Leading up to the wedding we had a few meetings with her in which she gave us tasks to complete (such as securing certain vendors, choosing certain items, etc.) and I really appreciated this as it actually made it less stressful in the end to know everything had been taken care of and organized over a span of a few months. We were grateful for how well she coordinated everything on the actual wedding day. She has a calming presence and everything went according to plan.

Takeaway: I highly, highly recommend this venue. You're getting a great space and a great family to work with!

Congratulations again, Magan & Frank!
